I’m adding some seeding stitches in the triangular corners, just to hold the gauze down to the background. The gauze is actually a hand-dyed length of bandage. I like the extra layer of meaning there: the idea of women stitching for their families, mending torn and worn cloth, rendering it as good as new… healing.
