Just because

Sometimes it’s nice just to stitch.  No plan, no ‘big idea’, no special meaning.  Just making stitches because you can.

This one is becoming a kind of sampler; just a cloth for holding stitches.

O my this is wonderful Karen, and i just love the colours and stitching…what fabric are you using?

  8. Karen Turner says:

Thanks for the encouragement! Jensters, there's a bit of everything – fabric from a very old Indian cotton skirt, a piece of hand-dyed African cotton, a bit of antique lace, a strip of fraying silk, painted canvas, painted fabric, all layered onto a linen damask napkin. The threads are wool and cotton, mostly hand dyed.

Lovely, my favourite colours and I really lie the way that the counted thread stitches work so well with the free stitching.
