A winter heart

… or the Heart of Winter, which is what I think I’ll be calling this one.

The central panel is a piece of gappy patchwork, applied to the background.  The heart is made from tubular ribbon, hand dyed and stuffed with yarn then couched down.

A delicate wintery heart of lovely stitches and textures. Where’s the face?

Thanks, Penny. I think the face (two eyes, at least) might be floating there in the centre, formed by the applied lace heart. Or maybe Kaite sees it somewhere else…

Lovely, lovely work as always! With its delicate colors I think it could be both a heart of winter and a heart of spring!

I can see a face too…but who knows what the end result will be.

Lovely! How do you get the yarn inside the tubular ribbon?? I like the way this looks from a bit of a distance, and (my favorite) up close and detailed!
