Stitching sky

Not quite the last of the patchwork circles – there is another one in progress, in whites and greys. More of that later, when it’s done.

This one, Perspective, will be quite simple, I think. Just plain lines of quilting, with the usual pieced border and couched silk yarn.

It feels curiously insubstantial, despite the fact that there are many layers. Batting/wadding would just have been wrong for this though. I don’t even know if I can justifiably call these quilts. There is a middle layer in all these circle quilts, but that layer is usually something very light, like muslin or similar. Not that it matters to me, really. Names are just words.

This is rather intriguing, I must say. Simplicity is often a good thing, after all!

Looking forward to seeing the finished result. The muted colours of the sky work beautifully.
