Dark and light

Somehow I was surprised that needle and thread might cast a shadow. Light affects all things, and without the darkness we’d never notice it. The shortest day is nearly upon us, along with the longest night of the year. Hubs and I celebrate the Solstice rather than Christmas Day, so we enjoy our festivities a little earlier than the Christian world. We also have our wedding anniversary on Christmas Eve – for no reason other than that it was the next available date in the registrar’s diary – and then we will be embarking on the usual round of visits to family and friends.

This is my last post of the year, so I want to wish you every happiness of the season. Thank you for being here with me through this year, for your kind words of friendship,  comfort and support.  See you in 2012.
